Hosting is a separate thing to our Domain (address).

Hosting gives our website (web pages, images etc.) a place to ‘live’ on the web (file storage). But more than that, our Hosting (server) also ‘serves up’ our content (files) to our website visitors as they click around.

Consider these points:

So – think long term.
Domains themselves can also gain authority and value (worth) over time.
It should be easy to remember and spell.
Easy to type and read.
You could consider something catchy. Even cheesy. Remarkable is memorable and that’s good.
Avoid excessively long names, hyphens and numbers unless they are part of the brand.
Relevant to brand or business, or the exact Brand or Business name is good.
Descriptive (say of the service provided or solution delivered) can be good too.
Shorter (rather than longer).

Yes, it’s probably impossible to check-off all of the above but it would be good to aim for as many as possible.

When you opt for Domain Privacy on your Domain, the Domain Registrar’s company contact information will replace your contact information in the WHOIS – which is public. If you don’t mind your email and phone number being publicly available (which many businesses don’t mind), don’t opt for domain privacy when you register your domain.
